Nintendo announced on July 8 that it will add Custom Robo and Custom Robo V2 at Nintendo 64 Nintendo Switch Online. The scheduled additional date is July 15th.
Custom Robo is a robot action RPG developed by noise. Customize the robot and fight in 3D space. By changing the parts, the feeling of use of the robot changes drastically. Consider your strongest combination and overcome the battle. In 3D space, jumps and high-speed dashes are also possible. The high-speed and dynamic battle is the charm of the series.
The two works will be distributed this time: the first Custom Robo released in December 1999 and Custom Robo V2 released in November of the following year. Custom Robo V2 is an upgrade of the previous work and added a 2on2 battle. Although the overall volume is more Custom Robo V2, it is also interesting to play from the first generation and feel the evolution.
Custom Robo V2 was released on Wii/Wii U virtual console, but has not been transplanted or reprinted from the first Custom Robo. This time, Custom Robo is the first reprint in about 23 years. Koji Mishiro, who has been working on the Custom Robo series for a long time, developed a 3D robot action game Synaptic Drive in 2020. It is released for Steam/Nintendo Switch. It is different from custom robot, but if you are interested, check it out.
