God of War is the next video game that will take the jump to the small screen.
According to Deadline, Amazon is in negotiations to adapt the popular Sony franchise in a series that would premiere in Prime Video. It would take Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, the creators and executive producers of The Expense, along with the Showrunner of The Wheel of Time, Rafe Judkins. Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions would also be involved in the project, supervising it.
Fergus and Ostby also have a great reputation after being nominated for the Oscar for the script of children’s children, one of the best films of Alfonso Cuarón, and write the script of the first Iron-Man movie. Judkins, curiously, has also collaborated with Marvel, as a screenwriter and producer in the television series agents of s.h.i.e.d.
God of War premiered in 2005 for PlayStation 2, and since then it has become one of the most emblematic franchises of PlayStation. His last installment, God of War, was published in 2018 and was a thunderous success of criticism and public. The sequel, God of War: Ragnarok, is expected for this year at PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, if there are no delays in its launch.
